Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport

The busiest airport in Michigan, Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) is located in the Detroit suburb of Romulus. One of the largest air transportation hubs on the globe, DTW serves the Detroit metropolitan area. A 6,700-acre airpark, DTW consists of six runways, two terminals, and 145 gates.

DTW is served by major airlines such as American, Delta, Southwest, United, and US Airways. It is the second busiest hub for Delta Airlines, and is the second-largest center for Spirit Airlines. Serves over 160 destinations, DTW is in the top 25 busiest airports in the world.

Detroit Symphony Orchestra Hall

Symphony fans enjoy plenty of musical entertainment in the fine city of Detroit. The historical Detroit Symphony Orchestra Hall, built in 1919, with superior acoustic qualities. In 1971, this Renaissance style concert hall featuring 2,014 seats, was added to the National Register of Historic Places. It has been home to the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, the fourth oldest symphony in America since for many years.

In 1941, the hall was named the Paradise Theater and became a jazz venue. Famed jazz musicians Ella Fitzgerald, Count Basie, Billie Holiday and Duke Ellington performed at the theater. In the 1970s, the hall was saved from demolition undergoing major renovations, including restoring its acoustic properties. While in Motown, enjoy a fun night out at one of the hall's many musical productions. Eastern Michigan University

Over 23,000 students enroll in one of Michigan's largest universities. Fisher Theatre

This Art Deco style skyscraper, built in 1928, is home to the Fisher Theatre. This elaborate theater was originally designed with a Mayan Revival style, featuring live macaws, and seated 3,500 guests. In 1961, the theater was renovated to a mid-century designed playhouse, with 2,089 seats.

In 1989, this beautiful theater became a National Historic Landmark. Throughout the years, the theater has hosted many world premier Broadway productions, including Hello, Dolly!, Golden Boy, Sweet Charity and Fiddler on the Roof. Ford Field

Opened in August 2002, Ford Field is home to the Detroit Lions of the NFL. Seating more than 65,000 fans, Ford Field hosted Super Bowl XL in 2006, and has been the home of the MAC Championship game since 2004.

Fans travel in from all over Detroit to catch a Lions game during the fall – from as far north as Sterling Heights, to western Detroit suburbs like Allen Park, and Romulus. Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library

The Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library is located on the University of Michigan - North Campus, in Ann Arbor. Former President Gerald Ford graduated from the North Campus of the University of Michigan in 1935. The Library is included in the National Archives and Records Administration. Open to the public since 1981, Library visitors view an extensive collection of photographs, presidential papers and audiovisual footage.

The Gerald Ford Museum is located in Grand Rapids, his hometown, and includes displays of the former President and Mrs. Ford's lives. The Arboretum features many collections, including the Peony Garden, Gateway Garden, the Centennial Shrub Collection, Heathdale, the Wetlands and the Dow Prairie. The Uplands features an oak-hickory forest with trees up to 135 years old. Enjoy strolling along the natural trails and pathways and be sure to visit the James D.
