Fisher Theatre
Visitors to downtown Detroit have plenty of historical sites to see while in town. One of the prominent landmarks in the center of Detroit is the Fisher Building. This Art Deco style skyscraper, built in 1928, is home to the Fisher Theatre. This elaborate theater was originally designed with a Mayan Revival style, featuring live macaws, and seated 3,500 guests. In 1961, the theater was renovated to a mid-century designed playhouse, with 2,089 seats.
In 1989, this beautiful theater became a National Historic Landmark. Throughout the years, the theater has hosted many world premier Broadway productions, including Hello, Dolly!, Golden Boy, Sweet Charity and Fiddler on the Roof. While in town, enjoy a wonderful Broadway performance at the theater, for a fun night out. Consider staying in one of the local Best Western hotels located in Allen Park, Romulus and Woodhaven, during your visit.
