Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport
The largest airport in Michigan, the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) serves the Detroit metropolitan area. Located in the suburb of Romulus, DTW is Delta Airlines’ second busiest hub, Spirit Airlines’ second-largest base, and one of the world’s largest transportation hubs.
Michigan’s second largest airport, the Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR) serves Grand Rapids and other central Wisconsin communities. Western Michigan’s largest regional airport, GRR supports major airlines like major airlines such as Allegiant, American, American Eagle, Delta, Frontier, and United.
Northern Michigan is home to two major airports: Cherry Capital Airport (TVC) in Traverse City, and Chippewa County International Airport (CIU) in Sault Ste. Marie – the only commercial airport on the Eastern Upper Peninsula.
Other commercial airports in Michigan include Capital Region International Airport (LAN) in Lansing, and Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport (AZO) – serving Kalamazoo and Battle Creek, along with other areas of southern Michigan.
